MIMLAB at ESMRMB 2026 - Girona, Spain

MIMLAB had a wonderful experience at the European Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine and Biology (ESMRMB) Annual Meeting 2026, held in the beautiful city of Girona, Spain. Our participation featured several contributions from our ongoing research in EEG-fMRI, physiological noise modeling, and preclinical imaging:

  • Hüden Neşe delivered a lightning talk titled “How Preprocessing Shapes Arousal-Related Brain-State Dynamics Estimated with LEiDA in Resting-State fMRI.” (INDoS COST Action Young Researchers and Innovator Conference travel grant)

  • Şirin Yağmur Abacı delivered a lightning talk titled “Comparing Pupil and Heart Rate Derived Regressors for Modeling BOLD Variance in task fMRI.” (INDoS COST Action Young Researchers and Innovator Conference travel grant)

  • Leen Hakkı delivered two lightning talks titled “A Longitudinal 7T qMRI Study of Brain Maturation and Early Aging in Female Wistar Rats.” (INDoS COST Action Inclusiveness Target Countries Conference travel grant)

  • Fatmatüzzehra Uçal presented a traditional poster titled “Caffeine’s State-Dependent Effects on Cortical Dynamics: A Surface-Based fMRI Study.” Fatmatüzzehra also received a registration fee waiver through the ISMRM Turkish Chapter.

  • Ali Reza Rahmanian's traditional poster “Longitudinal T1 (R1) Mapping of Reading and Classical Language Networks in Developing Adolescents,” presented by Dr. Pınar S. Özbay.

Beyond the scientific presentations, Dr. Pınar Özbay contributed to the meeting’s scientific program by organizing and co-moderating a session on Quantitative and Synthetic MRI. She also co-organized an Open Science Fair, representing Brainstem Health and INDoS COST Actions, promoting open science and collaboration within the neuroimaging community. We are also delighted to share that Dr. Özbay has been appointed to the ESMRMB Congress Planning Committee (CPC) for the upcoming year, where she will contribute to shaping the scientific program for ESMRMB 2027, to be held in Florence, Italy.
