Description:
Course overview and learning outcomes: Multimodal Brain Imaging course will give students an
understanding on the neurobiological principles of fMRI, signal, and noise components, structural and
functional (fMRI) connectivity, simultaneous acquisition of EEG-fMRI, analysis of multimodal data.
The course aims to give students hands-on experience with widely used software/toolboxes developed for
analysis of functional data, e.g., AFNI (Analysis of Functional NeuroImages) and EEGLAB. The goal is
to make the course as interactive as possible, hence we will have time to include hands on data analysis,
literature reading/discussion and assignment presentations throughout the semester.
Teaching methods: Lecturing, literature reading and hands-on programming assignments.
Suggested textbooks: Functional MRI by Huettel, Song, McCarthy (3rd Edition); From Picture to Proton
by McRobbie, Moore, Prince, Graves; EEG-fMRI by Mulert and Lemieux.
